Gavel: Ohio Judicial Center | South Pool | Stainless Steel
The Gavel, a 7,000-pound stainless-steel sculpture was installed in the reflecting pool outside the Ohio Judicial Center on June 3, 2008. It provides an imposing presence on the south side of the building, at 65 S. Front St. The piece represents the newest addition to a growing collection of Ohio- and law-themed artwork outside and inside the art-deco structure, home of the Ohio Supreme Court. The $200,000 sculpture, funded by the Ohio State Bar Foundation and installed Saturday, measures 30 feet long, 12 feet wide and 13 feet high.
